Louise Mackenzie designed her first home when she was 15. She won awards in high school and in university for her drafting abilities and her first home was erected in 1981.

It was the mentoring, exposure and creativity working with J.F. Brennan Construction and Murakami Design Build respectively which gave Louise her fine tuned architectural

Louise moved to Peterborough Ontario, located in the Kawartha Lakes area, to settle with her family and grow her business. Mackenzie Design Inc. has been a successful firm since 1996.

Her homes can be seen along the shores of Stoney, Clear, Balsam and Haliburton Lakes, and dotted throughout surrounding countryside properties.
